Interview with a chronic pain patient in 21st Century America
It’s no secret that despite our extensive technological advances over the last century, our knowledge of addiction remains woefully unexplored. This disparity is only made starker by the fact that, unfortunately, the most effective means of severe or chronic pain treatment still remains a steady supply of highly addictive drugs.
Recently, I met a man, who, through no fault of his own, found himself in need of severe, long-term pain management. He was gracious enough to speak with me about his situation. After speaking with me, he agreed to let me publish the interview.
I have uploaded the audio file from my conversation with him.
